Thanksgiving Pumpkin Centrepiece Workshop

$120.00

Join us to celebrate the Thanksgiving season with a centrepiece workshop at The Farmstead in Pembroke on Wednesday October 9th from 5:30 - 8:30PM.

We’ll start by enjoying a welcome beverage crafted by the talented bar staff at The Farmstead, while discussing how we prepare for the autumn season at Laurentian Flowers. We'll briefly discuss fall crops, preparing for spring & how we incorporate non-flower crops such as specialty pumpkins, gourds and ornamentals into this season.

Next we're going to be getting a bit messy carving our own specialty pumpkins & setting up proper mechanics to add flowers. To create our centrepieces will be using 100% locally grown products and sustainable mechanics. We'll provide you with the freshest, seasonal flowers to create your own pumpkin arrangement to take home. You can look forward to different varieties of dahlias complemented by flowering cabbages, lisianthus, asters, zinnia, amaranthus and other seasonal elements.

To finish off the evening, we'll head outside to the fire pit at the Farmstead for a bonfire, more conversation about flower farming and hot apple cider.

Here’s what your ticket to this event will include:

  • Overview and discussion about our fall season

  • Instructional time: flower arranging principles focused pumpkin centrepiece mechanics

  • Fresh, seasonal flowers and a specialty pumpkin to create your own arrangement

  • A welcome beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

  • Fireside Q&A about the fall season at the flower farm
